yesterday was probably my day to be "on the air".
after comm research, i hung out at the editing room, and the comm dep smokers' garden just nearby (which sir sev actually wanted to call the "uses and gratifications garden", in reference to the uses and gratifications theory in comm. kami lang daw mga comm people ang makakaintindi no'n...hehehe...). bobby bonifacio (the same bobby bonifacio who directed "kapag tumibok ang puso"--refer to my september 23 tabulas entry) and his group were there at the adjacent sound studio, about to do their radio spot (ad). he got me and macky, my groupmate, to act as voice talents (they did a radio spot for the MMDA male urinals...you know...the pink steel enclosures along EDSA!). boy...i definitely missed my advanced radio prod class because of that.
an hour later, it was time for OUR TV prod project naman...like i said previously, ako ang nagdirek...it was a mini-telethon (think "kapwa ko mahal ko"), which turned out to be both an action series and a variety show at the end, thanks to our talents. i almost screwed up at one point, though, when papu (one of the talents) entered the frame and tripped on the camera cables, disconnecting the switcher AS WELL AS one of the cameras. so it was like a "station power failure." pero masaya lalo na sa ending, when all of us--yes, all of us in the group, on-cam or off-cam people--danced to the tune of hagibis' "legs" (ang "official theme song" ni "VJ bumbay", macky's character in the project). nagustuhan ko rin 'yung spoof ni cla kay kris--including the now-infamous "you are a liar!", at 'yung delivery nina jc intal at doug kramer (yes, they are our groupmates) ng mga hirit nila, kahit scripted--nanlalaki ang mga mata ni doug do'n sa bading na caller. hehehehehe.

i SOOOOOOOO much loved it, that i think i want a VHS copy for myself to enjoy. hehehe.
after that, i went with my "airchecker" benchmates liz and acid to WLS-FM. the former was actually supposed to ask something about her comm research from any of the "aircheckers" (a.k.a. the student jocks) there, same with acid. i hung around with them at the LS booth, and ended up getting introduced to some of the aircheckers like dan (the man), liza, francis and ace, and to the main jocks like master T (who's sort of a deadringer for former defense chief angelo reyes), braggy and john hendrix (from whom i learned a lot, from his views on piracy to being a DJ--he gave acid and liz a little "pep talk" while in the recording room).
for a good four hours, i got to watch the boardwork. like a lot of things, it seems easy, but maybe, when you get in front of the console, you'll see that it's probably a bit of hard work too, until you get used to it. something i learned as well from sir john, was that, when you're on board (especially on a station with a format like LS, i suppose) you have to talk like there's someone's tongue in your ear (try to imagine the feeling). and that'll probably keep your energy level up, whatever your condition, while you're on board. and that the saying, "you're only as good as your last boardwork" isn't true at all.
and oh....masaya rin ako dahil, sa pagtambay ko kagabi sa LS, sir john asked me to be a voice talent for a station-produced plug he did that same night (and he was actually poking my neck with something like a needle while i was recording...remember that part about the "tongue in your ear"???

).
and he also asked me to be one of the contestants tonight on his gentxt quiz show. i'm kinda scared now, though. i don't know much about bands and music and that kinda stuff. hehehehe.
uhh...help?
